Freshly poured concrete slab pad at a Charlotte residence

How we build it

Step 1

Spec the load

A shed pad and a garage slab are different builds. We size thickness and reinforcement for what the slab will carry.

Step 2

Excavate & base

Ground cut to grade, stone base compacted — flatness starts under the concrete.

Step 3

Form & pour

Formed square and to elevation, poured and screeded flat, finished for its use.

Step 4

Cure & build on it

Joints as needed, proper cure, and you're ready to build, park or install.

Concrete Slabs & Pads — common questions

How thick should a concrete slab be?

It depends on the load: typical shed and patio pads are about 4 inches, vehicle slabs more, with reinforcement matched to use. We spec it to what the slab carries rather than pouring one-size-fits-all.

Do you pour small pads?

Yes — our project minimum is $2,000, which covers most shed pads, equipment pads and small extensions. Bundling a pad with a driveway or patio project is also common and efficient.
